What kind of position should someone with a Business and Technology Management degree look for?
Hello everyone,
I am a recent graduate with a bachelors in business and technology management. I have been looking for work for the past few months as a business analyst, assistant project manager and a few others. I have been unsuccessful although I think I have a great resume, lots of experience and a good education.
The only jobs that I was able to find were with sales. However, with sales, I feel that my education is worthless. I do not see myself as a salesman.
My question is, what kind of positions should I be looking?
You are already in the right arena. A degree like yours is common amongst business and technical analysts, technical writers, information technology directors, information technology recruiters and information technology human resources management. Because you have experience as an assistant project manager, I might suggest you take a look at becoming a certified project manager. It might open more doors for you.
You might also enjoy a role such as director of information technology or information systems manager.

Is a Master of Science degree in Technology Management marketable?
I am thinking about pursuing a Masters degree in either Technology Management or Information Management but was wondering if companies look for graduates in these fields? Are these type of degrees marketable in the business, government, and NGO world?
Is it a wise investment?
Thanks Leslie, but I am not going for an MBA but an MS in Tech. Management or Information Management.
The point was not to pursue an MBA and was wondering if an MS would be lust as marketable.

What kind of great paying job with a management technology degree?
I have a degree with Management Technology and I would like to know what type of job can I get with this degree and how much of a salary can I get?
to start expect something in the 40's or more. I would take on a role as a project manager.

Would it be possible to get jobs if I majored in Accounting and minor in Information Technology Management?
Would it be possible if there are any jobs available after I graduate if I majored in Accounting and minored in Info Tech Management? My interests are going towards internet technologies, computers and perhaps manipulating information as well. Am I going to the right direction?

McAfee inside: How Intel bid could shake up IT security BusinessWeek
If Intel's bombshell bid last week to buy McAfee for $7.68 billion pans out, the companies pledge to bring an unprecedented level of embedded security to networked devices ranging from smartphones to servers, potentially changing the way in which security is delivered to enterprise IT shops.
Tech industry's M&As in 2010
Intel and McAfee have been working closely on a host of projects for 18 months and expect to show the first fruits of their labor early next year. Among other things, McAfee technology could complement Intel's existing hardware-based security and management technology, dubbed vPro.
While company officials wouldn't reveal details on what products might result, they did say that their combined hardware and software could be used to protect Internet-connected devices -- from handhelds to automated teller machines to cars -- from growing cyberthreats in a consistent manner.
McAfee CEO Dave DeWalt wrote in a blog post that the "current cybersecurity model isn't extensible across the proliferating spectrum of devices���. The industry needed a paradigm shift, incremental improvements can't bridge the opportunity gap." Intel CEO Paul Otellini got more specific at the acquisition press conference: "We believe that security will be most effective when enabled in hardware."
