What are the four functions of management? What do the four functions of management have in common? How do managers at different levels apply the four functions of management?

planning, organizing, leading and coordinating of resources they are all highly integrated and have to work together in order for the company, investement or whatever you are managing succeed.
While there are different assertions that leading is different than managing, and that the nature of how the four functions are carried out must change to accommodate management.

Why is it important to examine management from different perspectives? What do You gain from this type of examination? Think of other possible perspectives or Metaphors you could use to describe management (e.g., management is a Profession; management means “being in charge”).What does your new Perspective tell you about management that adds to your understanding?

Because management can be so full of themselves and forget why they are in that position. Sooner or later power goes into people's head and they forget what the business is about. For example, it is really easy for someone sitting in the headquarter of McDonald's to forget life of minimum wage people in front of a grill.

Management should periodically look at the business from various perspective, and if they still decide to keep same old way of doing business at least it is an informed decision.

I have a condo that is about a year old and the management has been nothing but trouble since the building was registered. I asked them how to get in touch with the board of directors and they said that all requests are fielded by the management company and they contact the board on behalf of the tenants. Is this normal?
The management company has a relationship with the builder, so when repairs are needed, they do not act in the best interests of the tenants, but defend the builder.
Obviously they are not telling the board how many complaints they receive. Any suggestions on what to do about this? I am in Ontario.

I've owned two condos and in both situations the builder selected the management company. Once the association was turned over to the owners, then the home owner's association had the power to hire/fire the management company.

Do you know who your board members are? It's always been my neighbors and we could approach them with concerns. You could also attend the next board meeting.

A classic example is that the management want to rid a number of employees, probably a union members, but labor laws discouraged them to sack them outrightly. Now the management will promote them to a newly created section. If these employees take the bait, this section will be closed later with all conceivable justifications and they can no longer be re-assigned by the management since their previous positions have already been occupied. This will give the management all the reasons to sack these employees.
