Should managers need each of these skills, technical, communication and conceptual or just some?
A good manager needs all three, defined to include: leadership, problem solving, decision making, planning, meeting management, delegation, ability to learn, human relations, factual knowledge -- and, above all, the ability to manage him/herself.

Many of these product managers are coming in from other companies, and are hired and judged based on results.
You need a strong marketing background, as well as the pharma knowledge. You may want to consider an executive level course, Such as the Harvard Business School 1-week program (you get a certificate- I really liked it)
There are all sorts of things to do that can help spice up your marketabilty, but unfortunately not any substitute for experience as a manager.
