I am a pre-law student...for now...I was wondering about international law and its components- I am focusing in global studies but want to combine the two into a career- what are the details in international law...Im clueless...please help : )
i thought that maybe you could mix it alittle with business and do something like a business law kinda thing. each land has its own rules and laws so it will work out only if you connect it with something else like businesss or journal writing or working for a media covering events in diff countries.

I am interested in law school once I finish college, but I want to practice some kind of law where I would get to use languages. I am working on my French fluency and am also studying Chinese. What is the best field? I am not particularly interested in Public International Law, but am interested in International Business Law. I am not interested in living abroad or travelling every week of the year, but more of something where I would travel once in a while to other countries to negotiate deals, etc. Do most firms have lawyers who specialize in dealings abroad, and would they actually use languages?
In New York, criminal law fills the bill..................people who speak 100 different languages live here , probably the same in most big cities.............
My friend is brilliant and incredibly hard-working. She has her masters in International Law/Relations and her bachelors in Criminal Justice but thanks to an old injury can't become a govern. agent. She is now contracting with the DOJ in an international arena for 5 years and they love her but can't seem to put her into a govern. job thanks to veteran's preference and govern. policies. So she is getting passed over for every promotion and big raise that her government counterparts are getting. She is feeling like the only way to advance her career is to get her law degree but I don't think it's her passion and would be a huge waste of time and money. But her frustration is that she doesn't know what else she can do with her degree. Anyone with any ideas or a direction to point her in? She loves international policy/law, politics, criminal justice, has years of experience and has a very keen mind.
Masters in International Law and Bachelors in Criminal Justice.
She loves international policy/law. She could work on getting into a legal dept. of an international company. She has experience and interest that can help a company with an international exposure.
She could look into working for a group like amnesty international.

I'm a U.S. citizen, and my ideal career involves living in a foreign country, or at least making relatively frequent international trips.
Is attending law school, and studying international law in particular, a good educational path towards achieving an international career? Or, is international law much more likely to involve living and working domestically, dealing with international issues from here?
since your degree with be in America and you will pass the bar here, I don't see it helping them out in europe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
is it easy ( international law ) ?
do you have to learn by heart a lot of things ?
what jobs do you get after you study it ?
None.
Warning! Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!! This is NOT a good field to invest in!! Many reasons. Main reason?....We simply have WAY TOO MANY Lawyers - we have a GLUT of Attorneys.
The law schools know that the economy is SATURATED with too many Lawyers, but they continue to churn out graduates because law students are easy money for them - law schools have to make very little investment into a law student.
Stay away from Law IF you want a job.
Suggestion: Look into and consider the field of HEALTHCARE! <<< LOTS of jobs there! and scholarships!

Israel and Palestine: A true one-state solution Washington Post
For decades, the international community has assumed that historic Palestine must be divided between Jews and Palestinians. Yet no satisfactory division of the land has been reached. Israel has aggravated the problem by settling roughly 500,000 Jews in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, eliminating the land base for a viable Palestinian state.
A de facto one-state reality has emerged, with Israel effectively ruling virtually all of the former Palestine. Yet only Jews enjoy full rights in this functionally unitary political system. In contrast, Palestinian citizens of Israel endure more than 35 laws that explicitly privilege Jews as well as policies that deliberately marginalize them. West Bank Palestinians cannot drive on roads built for Israeli settlers, while Palestinians in Gaza watch as their children's intellectual and physical growth are stunted by an Israeli siege that has limited educational opportunities and deepened poverty to acute levels.
Palestinian refugees have lived in exile for 62 years, their right to return to their homes denied, while Jews from anywhere can freely immigrate to Israel.
