What do you understand by the term 'commercial law firm' and why are you attracted to work in such an organisation? Can anyone help me write a good answer to this?

well one good part of commercial law is that you will rarely if ever have to enter a court room.

My goal is to attend Harvard Law School. This is a high but realistic goal for me. Does anyone have any tips on how to go about this. I do not know if it is relevant but I am a sophomore in high school.

First of all, to get into Harvard or any Ivy league school, you need rank in your school's top 10 graduation, get a high sat score, and have an active community service life, also, have a good hobby.

Financial Aid is available, but you will need scholarships or a sponsor to make it through the super expensive tuition.

It depends on the precise job description, but it might include drafting, negotiating and implementing a wide range of commercial contracts such as intellectual property agreements, outsourcing agreements, maintenance and supply agreements, and distribution agreements and giving advice on health and safety, competition and data protection issues and corporate finance.

I know of a large company that is subcontracting all of thier drivers to do the work who do not have commercial auto insurance or business insurance. Are these drivers in violation of any laws in Texas?

autoinsurance.maclenet.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

Hi Yahooligans!
I received 2 job offers, both are legal assistant/paralegal positions. Both are small boutique law firms and located in the same vicinity.
One specializes in real estate law and minimizing taxes (starting $28,000 and 3 month probationary period) and the second specializes in commercial litigation (starting $35,000 and 6 month probationary period).
Which would you choose and why? I'm leaning towards the commercial litigation law firm because of the money and I feel commercial litigation is more broad. Thanks for your time and advice!

Give some thought to where you will be in 5 years, and that will tell you a lot.

I think your instincts about the commerical litigation job are probably spot on, given the extra pay and the better future job prospects.

You should also consider office environment before making the final commitment. Now that they have made a firm offer, perhaps it is time to tour the place and talk to people who actually work there, if you haven't done so already.

A jeans environment with little overtime that gives generous paid vacation, might not pay as well in gross dollars, but would allow you to go to night school and/or pursue other things that make you happy or more successful in the long run.

You could also go back to the real estate law firm and try to renegotiate a higher offer, if it is something you might be interested in, but the money is holding you back.
