How do I notify Financial Institutions that I am now a trustee in place of my deceased mother?
Day 44 Gherkin

My mother recently passed away and I am now the sole trustee. My father, who is still living, is the grantor. I need to advise several financial institutions with whom we have investments of this change. Is there a form that I need to request or particular department that I need to contact at each institution.

I have prepared copies of all the legal documents (POA, Trust, my mother's death certificate, etc.), but I need to know what to do next.

You need to write a letter to the financials institutions or call them and find out hwo do you need to talk to in this matter.

Is there a difference between financial institutions and economic institutions?
ji5910.JPG

I know that financial institutions may include banks (the bank of england / commercial banks), insurance companies, stock markets but I was wondering if economic institutions are classed as the same things?
Nor have I, that's what's confusing me!

Sorry; I have never heard the term "economic institutions" I'll see what I can learn.

Here’s one definition, but it seems pretty loosey-goosey
http://www.econlib.org/library/Topics/HighSchool/EconomicInstitutions.html
These sites seem to think they are the organizations that study economics:
http://ideas.repec.org/top/top.inst.all.html
http://cei.ier.hit-u.ac.jp/English/aboutCEI/message.html
These sites seems to think they are any institution that is not either a social or a political institution”

And here’s some that seem to know that that phrase must mean something, but aren’t terribly sure exactly what it might be

Well, that phrase looks like another one of those combinations of words that seems like it ought to mean something real, without forcing the user to be pinned down to much of anything specific. These sorts of things are really popular with academics and politicos, but doesn’t seem to be of much use to the general populace.

How will borrowing $700 billion to pay to financial institutions help the economy?
ji5811.JPG

I am having trouble with the logic of this. The U.S. gov. owes over $500 billion to Japan and over $500 billion to mainland China. These countries lent the money not because they love us, but to make money from us. The current financial crash is a result of overzealous borrowing.

So we are solving the problem by borrowing another $700 billion to pay off the financial institutions that were at the heart of making bad loans.

Am I the only one who sees a problem with this?

Please help me understand.

Let the tax payers pay it back. Thats around $ 23333.33 in additional taxes for each one of us american to pay but just think about it, it has to be more because not every american work. This game they are playing is like chess when you think we got one up on them from the Tax Rebate checks we get hit with this Bull Sh!t. Keep this sh!t up and I'm about to work under the table foreal or move my @ss out of america I always said I wanted to travel this is what happen when america turned into a nation full of GREED.

Pass a bill that would ban bush dumb @ss and his whole family from the white house FOREVER

Which financial institutions will actually get the check for 700 billion dollars?
Damaged Money

Everybody talks about the amount of money and where it comes from, but nobody is actually giving actual financial institutions that will receive the check. Just the big 2 or 3? Or will the corner bank in the heartland also get some money? Give us company names so we can check out why they failed.

Osborne rules out taking part in European bailout fund The Guardian

Britain today flatly ruled out taking part in a planned new European scheme for bailing out distressed financial institutions by using the proceeds from a levy on banks.

As EU finance ministers at a meeting in Brussels agreed a new European system of financial supervision and co-ordinating the budgets of the 27 member states, George Osborne , the chancellor, resisted calls for using the proceeds from the new levies on banks for dealing with failure. "It's up to national governments and parliaments as to what should happen with the revenue," he said. "I made clear that we did not support proposals for a European resolution fund. There was no agreement on that issue."

In a move co-ordinated with France and Germany, Britain is to introduce a levy on banks in January. Sweden already has such a levy and other EU countries are expected to follow suit. The European commission is drafting new rules proposing that the money raised go into "national resolution funds" which would then be used to unwind or bail out distressed banks.
