What is the difference between Bank transfer and Bank wire transfer?
I have started playing party poker. When I wanted to deposit money, there were few options and bank transfer and bank wire transfer were two different options. I would like to know the difference.
so would i -- i always considered them to be the same!!!

Well, you could write a check, but it would take a long time before you knew the funds had been successfully collected. Wire transfers can be made by any commercial bank to most commercial banks around the world. Get the "wiring instructions" for the receiving account and submit them in writing to your banker.

Wire transfer is 2 to 6 hours. The credit is between banks not depositor to depositor.

ACH (automated clearing house) is a driect deposit or direct withdrawal from your account. It could pertain to payroll or if you want a bill to be paid, for example like a cable bill your bank will automatically take it out of your account each month on that day.
Bank Wire Transfer is Bank to Bank transactions with the federal reserve in the middle.

Will a bank wire transfer my cash if I don't have a bank account with them?
Can I walk into a bank, give them my cash, and have them wire transfer the funds to at one of my bank accounts?
Some banks will do it, some won't. I would try the larger banks first. It will also depend on where the funds are going to and how much you need to wire. Pleae be prepared to pay 30.00 for the fee, since you dont have an account.
It might help to have a contact person at your bank, just in case they need to verify any info.
Banks do not hold cash, BTW.
