what is required to open a bank account with the yorkshire bank ? ie how much cash deposit required and what form of id . thanks.

I don't work for the Yorkshire but i am a branch manager for another building society. Legally you are required to provide 2 forms of ID, passport or Driving Licence (with paper counterpart) for primary and then a bank statement or utility bill fo secondary are all acceptable forms of ID.

I am trying to send money to different people in my family from the internet. I am looking for what Bank will allow for ACH transfers or direct wiring of money to another bank account without having to supply the "two small deposits" or knowing the login information of the payee. I just want to be able to wire money to any bank account/routing number without having to go through a verification process. Does anyone know a bank that makes this process easy?

Any bank account can do online banking...

What you are dealing with is PayPal trying to make sure that you are who you say you are.......Its for your protection as well as the general public that might come into contact with your email account..

If you cant pass a verification process with PayPal... you probably dont have a valid bank account... or are ineligible...due to illegal immigration status.. or ChexSystems problems...

I have a paypal account and a bank account. Is paypal similar to a secondary bank account? Can I use paypal by itself to make payments, or do I need to link it with my bank account to submit payment? I am asking this question, because every time I log in to paypal, it says that I have zero dollars on my account. I wonder what that means. I have money on my bank account. Why doesn't it show up in paypal? So, is paypal like a separate bank account or what?

You can use the paypal account by its self if there is money in it. It says zero because it is not a reflection of your personal bank account, just what someone has paid you. It only shows what people have sent you to that paypal account, not your bank. If the bank account is linked to it, the bank account is just a back up. You could still use it then if it says $0, because it would then take it out of your bank. You can request money from your bank to be put into paypal. takes 4 or 5 business days. And you can also take the money out of paypal and send it to your bank, takes 4 or 5 days. You can also get the paypal debit card and use it like a regular master card from the money in your paypal account. It is free to get and if your bank is connected to your paypal you can use it with the funds in your bank.

I am now a Regions customer and have been really unsatisfied with their services. I have never had so many problems with a bank before. The overdraft fees, the poor customer service, and I just recently found out from a teleservice representative at Regions corporate that the corporate offices gave each bank branch power over the accounts they open. Meaning, if a branch manager decides that he/she doesn't want to refund overdraft fees regardless of the reason, he/she does not have to. Does anyone reccommend a bank and/or bank account that is student-friendly?

credit unions are the best in my opinion. i love the one that i am with

There was a levy placed on my current bank account by a bill collecting agency(credit-card debt) and I am stil owing. My dilienma is that I was laid off from my job and I cannot afford to pay right now. I want to file my taxes and have the funds go directly to my bank account. If I do open a new bank account and e-file, will the creditor be able to find my new account and place a levy on it? I would also like to know how they find it (bank account), and how long it usually takes.

have your refund sent in the form of a check.
They can find your account if they have the imformation.
Sorry been there too. hang strong it will get better.
