I have quickbooks pro 2006 and really am unhappy with it! It has soooo many limitations and it is unbelievable how many things you can't do with it! It is very limited when it comes to individualizing or adding notes on invoices. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Certainly you can add notes to invoices! Go to layout designer in the invoice template and you can change whatever you want. Many people use Quickbooks. It's a reasonable cost, easy program to use and easy program to screw up as it lets you change anything by clicking on it. You can try other programs but they will most likely cost you more. I do not know. But, we use a "Dome Accounting Ledger" about $10-12 at many office supply stores like Office Depot. It so simple, even a caveman can use it. How I used it; as I received and paid bills, I log them in the ledger then put the Receipts in a regular file folder, one behind the next so they in date order. Once in the folder they in the Book. End of year Book already balanced and ready for your taxes. Copy of tax form and staple receipts to the form and stick in or on the Ledger and file in a box. Then it all there if your ever get audited by You know who?

Looking for the all the basics but also with the potential for sales reps to be able to access data & enter orders from across the country
In addition the above we'd also like to be able to purchasing and shipping bills of lading.

i need a program that will do inventory, bills, etc. the program needs to be safe so i wont be getting my computer messed up- any ideas?

I am about to start a small recruitment business and want the best possible, and easy to use small business accounting program. It seems the big ones in the market are MYOB and Quicken. Which do you prefer? I need it to control Payroll, Invoicing etc. I would be looking at MYOB Accounting Plus or Quicken Pro. PLEASE HELP ME!

MYOB is a much better program than Quicken (Quickbooks), alot better if you have some accounting background, Quicken tries to simplify things and ends up making them worse to use. Most accountants you'll find recommend MYOB over Quicken, it's easier for them to do your tax from. If you already have an accountant, ask them which they prefer.

Also consider a program called Cashflow Manager, it's a very simple cashbook based program (it has payroll and invoicing add ons), it's good if you are setting up a very small business, you might be too big for it, but have a look and decide for yourself.
